Cookie Policy

Last updated  29.08.2023:

Thank you for visiting our website and using our Services! The website and the Services are provided by Mytona (hereinafter also “we” or “us” or “our”).

Please familiarize yourself closely with this Cookie Policy, as well as our Privacy Policy and Terms of Service, as published on our website.

1. What are cookies?

A cookie is a small text file that includes a unique identifier and is sent to your computer, mobile telephone, or any other device connected to the Internet when you visit our website or use our Services. Cookies are widely used to support the effective functioning of websites and applications, and to collect information about users’ online preferences. For the sake of simplicity, we refer in this Policy to cookies, but we may use other technologies in a similar manner (hereinafter, “cookies”).

2. What types and categories of cookies may be used?

There are different types of cookies:

  • Session cookies: these cookies work for as long as your browser or application is open. They delete themselves automatically as soon as you close the browser or application.

  • Persistent cookies: these cookies help to remember your settings in those cases where you are returning to our website or using our Services repeatedly. For this reason, they remain on your computer after you have left our website or finished using the Services.

  • First-party cookies: these cookies are generated by the websites the URL of which is displayed in the browser’s address bar.

  • Third-party cookies: these files are stored by other websites that post their content (for example, images or advertisements) on the web pages that you are viewing.

Cookies are also divided into categories:

  • Essential (strictly necessary) cookies. These cookies are required for you to use the functions offered by the website and the Services, and also for identifying users.

  • Functional cookies. These cookies allow the website or the Services to remember choices you have made (for example, your username or the language you have chosen) and thus improve and personalize the website and Services for you.

  • Performance or analytical cookies. These cookies gather information about when and how you use the website and the Services, and which Services and which sections of the website you visit most often. These cookies are also used to clarify whether or not you receive notifications about errors.

  • Advertising (targeting) cookies. These cookies collect information about your preferences in your browser to make the advertising and content that we offer more appropriate to you and your interests. They are also used to limit the number of views of an advertisement or specific content and to evaluate the effectiveness of an advertisement or marketing campaign. These cookies are normally installed by third-party advertising networks. They remember the websites that you have visited and provide that information to other parties, including advertisers.

There are also other technologies that make it possible to collect your data, including the data stored in your browser or on your device, identifiers connected with your device, and other software with equivalent purposes. These include the following:

  • Pixel tags: also known as tracking pixels or beacons, these are small blocks of code installed (or triggered) by a web page, email, application, or advertisement, which may obtain specific information about your device or browser, and about how you interact with them. This includes, for example, information about the type of your device and operating system, the type and version of browser you use, your visit to the website, the length of your visit, the referring website, your IP address, the opening of an email or pressing on an advertisement, and also other similar information, including a small text file (cookie) that uniquely identifies your device. Pixel tags are a means that can be used by third parties to install and read browser cookies from a domain they do not themselves use and collect information about visitors to that domain, normally with domain owner’s permission.

  • Local or session storages: these are types of storage that make it possible to save certain information on the user’s computer similar to cookies. The local storage saves information permanently until it is deleted by the user, while the session storage saves information for as long as one session lasts, until the user closes the page in their browser. Unlike cookies, this information is not sent to the server at every request, and storages make it possible to save a larger volume of information (as a rule, up to 5MB), to save it more safely, and to work faster.

  • Software development kits. Software development kits (also known as SDK) function like cookies and pixel tags, but work in mobile applications where pixel tags and cookies are not always able to function. A section of code (the SDK) is installed in the application that allows us and our partners to gather specific information about your interaction with the application, and information about your device and network.

  • Flash cookies. This is a technology that can provide equivalent functionality to cookies and is capable of saving information on your device. This information is often saved in files that are different from the files of other cookies. This means that the management and deletion of these cookies are performed in a different way.

3. How and why do we use cookies?

We use cookies for the following purposes:

  • to provide you with the opportunity to use our website and our Services to the full

  • to identify and authenticate you as a user of our website and our Services, in order to provide you with the services required

  • to store your settings or the place at which you finished viewing the website or using a Service

  • to analyze your use of the website and Services in order to adapt our website and Services to your personal preferences

  • to identify your interests, in order to offer you content that may be of interest to you

When we use cookies, we do not learn data such as your name, but we can connect the information held in cookies with your personal data, which you can provide us by alternative means (for example, by using the feedback service on our website).

For the purposes of analyzing and constantly improving the user experience of our products, the Google Analytics service is integrated into our website. Google Analytics uses only one category of cookies—analytical cookies. Google Analytics cookies are used to collect information about how users use our website. These cookies gather information in the aggregate to give us a picture of how you use our website.

Please note that on this website the Google Analytics code is augmented with the function “gat._anonymizeIp();”, which allows for the anonymous collection of IP addresses (so-called IP masking). We anonymize IP addresses in Google Analytics, and the anonymized data is transferred to and stored by Google on servers in the USA. Google may also transfer this information to third parties if to do so is required by law, or when such third parties are processing information on Google’s behalf. Google will not link your IP address with any other data stored by Google. Further information about Google’s conditions for the use and confidentiality of data can be found on the pages https://support.google.com/analytics/answer/6004245http://www.google.com/analytics/terms/gb.html, and https://www.google.de/intl/en_uk/policies/ (links to external websites that will open in a new tab).
