1. What's the most difficult part of being mayor?

Responsibility. It's hard to get used to, even after years of service. I can only hope that I deserve the townspeople's trust. But discounts in all the city's stores are a nice perk for my services. Of course, all thanks to the goodwill of the townspeople themselves. Ahem, better not write about that, it's somehow undignified.

2. Why didn't you marry?

Call me sentimental, but some old wounds on the heart haven't healed with time. I cherish the memory of one woman. Or maybe I'm just married to the job!

3. How do you feel about being the first mayor who isn't a member of the Byron family?

Of course, it makes me proud. Since childhood, I've dreamed of making Darkwood a better place, and hope that my service now truly benefits the city's residents. But this in no way diminishes the Byron family's contribution to the city. And the City Council will always need Lady Byron's wisdom. And maybe even Gordon's, when he . . . matures a little.

4. If the Curse of Darkwood disappeared tomorrow, what would you do?

I'd probably look for all my lost gloves and bow ties. Of course, no need to bother the Seeker about every single thing lost. And I'd go on vacation!

5. Do you have a secret passion?

I wouldn't call it a passion, but how do you feel about cats? I'm sure your heart melts too at the sight of their furry faces. I can watch my cat, Secret, for hours. 

6. How do you relax after work?

To be honest, I'm not very good at it. Helen sometimes even scolds me that I live in the office. But you know, because of the Curse, the Town Hall is so crowded during the day. Everyone has a complaint—gremlins stole something, a werewolf broke the fence, volunteers scared someone in the alley. And everyone demands my attention. But at night, the Town Hall is quiet, and I can finally read through important documents in peace!

7. What's your favorite place in Darkwood?

I'd be lying if I said it was the Town Hall! My office is like a second home to me, but there's nothing like early mornings in the center of Darkwood with a cup of coffee and a fresh croissant from Monsieur Antoine's bakery.

8. Have you ever broken the law?

I try to be law-abiding, because if even the mayor doesn't obey the laws of his city, what use are they?! But sometimes I leave the carriage with the coachman in the wrong place. Bear in mind that there are never any free spaces at the Town Hall during the day! Maybe that's something I should look at . . .
